Props

While I dabbled with props for LARP, it wasn't until I got into university that I really started learning the ins and outs of how to do it. Most of my experience, as a result, is with fake food, though the basics that I know are easily translatable into a variety of different branches of props. It's my hope that I get to expand on all of these and become a more professional prop maker, as their construction is very quickly becoming a passion.

Eastgate House selection

Eastgate House requested a room in their building be redecorated in the style of a 17th century servant's kitchen. They wanted it to look in the middle of preparations, with a focus on baking. There are pictures of the final table we completed, and pictures shared of pieces I made or helped make- click the images to learn more.

Miscellanious props

This is largely a collection of various props and accessories that can't be individually categorised. I'm still proud of each and every one of them, however- particularly the two headdress decorations, which I maintain to be my best creations.

Rune necklaces

These were leftover cherry wood from a tree in the garden. Each were covered in varnish, had a hole drilled, designs drawn on (Empire LRP runes), covered in varnish to seal and looped onto waxed cotton cord.

The Skull Collection

These were my real first foray into the world of props. It involved shaping clay into something proper, copying the shape of bird skulls the best that I could. Most of these were crow or raven skulls, though I did do a couple of hawk skulls and most notably, an owl, which I'm probably the most proud of. Each one marked with runes are each drawn with Empire LRP runes, much the same as the wooden necklaces above, at the behest of the client. They had holes marked into the back of the skull through which a waxed cotton cord was threaded to allow the owner to wear them.
