SASHA WHITLOCK

I'm a UK-based graduate from UCA with a BA(Hons) in Design for Theatre and Screen, having studied both design and construction for props, costume and set alike. While my passion lies in costume, my love of props is also strong. I'm excited by the idea of coming up with interesting ways to bring designs and scripts to life, as well as learning historical methods of construction in order to help performers recreate scenes from history for both educational and entertainment purposes. My background experience lies largely in both cosplay and LARP, each project helping me learn new techniques- I learned largely through being self-taught or from my family.

 

I believe firmly that costume is vital as a first impression; the way a character dresses is almost as important as how they act, if not more so, to tell us who they are. Getting the balance right can make or break a character, and I challenge myself to match it as much as I can.
